REFINISHING?
If you are going to invest your time and money in those antique furniture pieces, they deserve proper restoration!
YOU can produce professional looking results, with a minimum of time, effort, and unpleasant side-effects, by using our proven "RELIABLE" system. We can show you how easy it is to preserve the original character of the piece, bring out the beauty of the wood and maintain maximum value of the antique.
You want stripper that works fast on up to 8 coats of paint, has no smell, and is non-flammable? We have it -- in two consistencies.
You want a hard, permanent finish that can duplicate the look of hand-rubbed oils or varnishes? We have that, too.
AND --- for those pieces that need a freshening without total refinishing -- we have a wonderful wood cleaner and polish.
Discover for yourself the ease and results of the "RELIABLE" process. WE DID --- that's why we use it and why we sell it!

And hey .... Even with the BEST products to use, not many of us think that stripping is fun, so we thought we'd have a little frivolity with the music on this page! Hope you enjoy it.
RELIABLE USER'S GUIDE

First, and foremost, keep in mind that this is an antique, and you want to preserve as much of the existing surface patina as possible. No sanding is recommended, except where splintering wood needs to be smoothed. |
|
Stripper choice should be made according to the project. 1776 is a liquid and is recommended on varnish or single coats of paint. Heavy Duty is a semi-paste and is intended for removal of multiple paint layers OR on non-movable vertical surfaces such as woodwork and kitchen cupboards. You can also mix the two to customize to your liking, e.g. 1:1 or 2:1. We stock Heavy Duty in quarts & gallons; 1776 is available in gallons only.

V.S. Vinyl Finish is clear, buffable and repairable, and can be applied by hand rubbing, brushing, or spraying. It is NOT a polyurethane! Your end product can be made to resemble either a varnish or oil finish. Dries to the touch in one hour. We recommend three coats of finish, buffing with #0000 steel wool between coats. We urge you to try to duplicate the appearance of the original finish! We stock the quart size only on this product.

And, if you have any pieces that just look dull and dirty, don't refinish. Try Antique Refinishers Wood Cleaner with #0000 steel wool and follow with our Lemonoil Beeswax or Citrus Tree (it's orange scented) polish. Each is 16 oz. size.
You'll love the way you can save many of those original finishes!
